Has two flagella, one of which is easily observed.

Contains a mixture of plants and animals commonly found in ponds such as Protozoans, Rotifers, Algae, Crustacea, and small worms.

This, along with wheat or rice, is the medium we use for culturing most of our protozoa. Supplied as a concentrate, dilute 9:1 with distilled water.
